Christa is a long time Idaho conservative. She served as a constituent representative in the local Coeur d'Alene office for the Honorable Dirk Kempthorne, U.S. Senate. She has volunteered for numerous local, state and federal campaigns including Phil Batt, Butch Otter, and Helen Chenoweth in Kootenai and Latah Counties.
Christa Hazel has extensive business and finance experience. As Vice President of Manis Investigations, Inc., she supervised multi-million dollar contracts, managed 75 retired federal agents working in multiple markets and was responsible for contract negotiations with clients and service providers for seven years. The company provided security consulting services to Fortune 500 companies, including Philip Morris U.S.A. and their various brand marketing promotions.
Christa Hazel was appointed and served a 4-year term to the Coeur d'Alene School District 271 Long Range Planning Committee. This committee is comprised of 28 members of the community that studies our school building facilities and our programs. Christa was elected to chair this committee and was instrumental in updating the current 10 Year Plan that outlines future facility and program needs.
Christa is a married mother of two children that attend Bryan Elementary School. She is currently in her second term as PTA Vice President at Bryan Elementary School. As a member of the EXCEL Foundation, she served helped raise private dollars to fund public school programs that would otherwise go unfunded.
The Hazel Family enjoys skiing, hiking, swimming, roller skating, target practice with the grandparents, Cd'A Jr. Tackle Football, and Gonzaga basketball. Christa and her husband, Joel Hazel, are avid cyclists and ride their bikes regularly.
